Dublin GAA news

It's been an action-packed period for Dublin GAA, with major inter-county news and a thrilling run-up to both the Senior Football and Hurling Club Finals, leaving one club, Na Fianna, chasing a historic "double."
Inter-County News: All-Stars and Retirement 🌟
The club excitement was bookended by important county news. Four Dublin hurlers received well-deserved recognition with All-Star nominations for their 2025 performances: John Bellew, Cian O'Sullivan, Sean Currie, and Conor Burke.
However, the biggest headline was the retirement of football stalwart John Small from inter-county duty at the age of 32. The Ballymun Kickhams defender steps away as a legend, having won 7 All-Ireland medals and an All-Star. His departure is seen as a huge loss, creating a significant gap in the Dublin defence.
Club Championships: Semi-Final Drama 🏆
The focal point of the recent coverage has been the dramatic final four of the Dublin Senior Club Championships.
Football Chaos
The Dublin Senior Football Championship (SFC) semi-finals were defined by extraordinary comebacks and major shocks.

  • In the first semi-final, Na Fianna staged another remarkable fightback, just as they did in the quarter-final against Ballymun Kickhams, to narrowly defeat a strong Kilmacud Crokes side (3-11 to 1-16).
  • The second semi-final saw arguably the biggest shock: Ballyboden St Enda's overcame a seven-point deficit with only five minutes remaining to knock out the reigning All-Ireland Club champions, Cuala (3-21 to 2-22).
These incredible results set up an unpredictable SFC Final between Na Fianna and Ballyboden St Enda's.
    Hurling Highs
The Dublin Senior Hurling Championship (SHC) followed with its own set of compelling semi-finals, establishing a final pairing that some are hoping will lead to a maiden title for the underdogs.
  • In a tough semi-final, Lucan Sarsfields defeated Ballyboden St Enda's (1-21 to 1-17), earning their spot in the final for the first time in 12 years.
  • Na Fianna, the reigning All-Ireland Club champions, continued their pursuit of a three-in-a-row Dublin title by defeating Kilmacud Crokes (2-22 to 0-17) in the other semi-final.
The SHC Final will see Na Fianna take on Lucan Sarsfields, led by Kilkenny legend Charlie Carter.
With Na Fianna in both the Senior Hurling and Football finals, the possibility of a rare Club Double looms large, making the upcoming finals an eagerly awaited climax to the club season.
